Entertainment for Saturday Afternoon
« on: March 08, 2007, 06:13:43 PM »

Last summer when I stayed out in the Hill Country, I met a couple (Shan & Annie) who were playing at one of the local lavender farms. Open house type thing. I was really impressed with them. She has a beautiful voice, he plays a 12 string and sings pretty dang good himself. In addition they have another guy that plays lead guitar with them.

My question is, would this be something the group would like to have after the meal for a few hours. I would take care of their fee. The only thing else they ask is to be allowed to have a tip jar out and to be able to display and sell their new cd.

They have a couple of songs on my space that you can listen to.  www.myspace.com/shannieband  These are not their best but will give you an idea of what their music sounds like.

I have been asking people that play to bring their guitars and whatever and thought this would be a good way to get it kicked off. Let me know what y'all think.

Yup, me too. I always like good music, and the hill country seems to have a lot of good musicians.

BTW Bill, I've been working on a way to get my guitar strapped to the bike. It won't be pretty, but I think it might work.

That would be a trip.  O0  But I'm afraid that fee would be more like a second mortgage.  ;D ;D

Sounds good to me.  She has a good voice.

I have a trial run with my guitar on the X next weekend.  Gig bag to Arkansas.  We'll see if I'll do it again, I'll bring mine.
