David, the name of the other place outside Colmesneil is Texas Star Cafe.  If you do a Google search for "Texas Star Cafe Colmesneil", you will find the address and a number of reviews.  This has always been a good place to get CFS when I have been in and around Woodville.  This might be an alternative to the Picket House.

If you do want to try this place, I would give them a call and let them know that you are bringing a group so that they can plan for it.  I know that when I worked in a restaurant in a small town we liked it when a group would call ahead.  Just my 2 cents.

I would love to go but my wife says the ride is too long on our anniversary. (28 years) We may do the short ride on Sunday from Renegade to the Spot instead.

  have a business trip planed for Austin this weekend or i would try and meet up with you guys... but on a good note i will be riding to austin and will try to hit some of the senic rides around there.
