GregC & I (Matap) are trying to get a good head count for the m&g this 24th of January. Please poll in to all that apply. I am also asking that you please 'pm' me with your handles and party size(we need a head count for all those attending, especially non-members since they can't poll in). I will be posting this information at the end or beginning of each day until then. I will update with the location and a link to a map with the address once I hear back from GregC. Again thanks for your cooperation. O0
Map:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&saddr=Fairwinds+St%2FUS-77%2FUS-90&daddr=&hl=en&geocode=FYo6wQEdMqU4-g%3B&mra=mr&sll=29.43154,-97.060875&sspn=0.151899,0.30899&ie=UTF8&ll=29.437729,-96.944604&spn=0.018986,0.038624&z=15

Solo rider and male/female is kinda redundant, eh? Just sayin. O0
-
Agree, I'll just mark both O0
-
Well the first two are the actual head count, the last two really are there to see how many are female as to encourage our lady friend riders. :-*
-
okay removed the male/female part. can see where this might cause confusion and a miscount. please just poll in on above options and pm me with your handle and party count. thanks :D
-
Weather permitting I would love to join this ride and finally meet some of you in the area. My daughters softball keeps me extremely busy. We are actually on a 3 week break from tournaments so if this doesn't get pushed off I may stand a chance.
Steve
-
I'll be riding solo. I am encouraging a couple of friends to come on their bikes. (not VTX's)
-

Now you have to go back and remove the "up to 4 options" part. Some of us ain't too smart, and you don't want to cause a brain meltdown.
I'm in, solo on the Feejer. Anyone else in Austin/Cedar Park/Leander/G'town/Belton/Temple/Kennytown?
-
I am trying to get up the nerve to meet up with this group!!!
-
I am trying to get up the nerve to meet up with this group!!!
If there is one thing you ain't short of, Kenny, it's nerve! C'mon and join us! :c
-
Weather permitting we plan to ride this day...
May have 2 more other non members ride with us...

-
Great Joe! I was waiting on your post. Didn't think it would take much to get you on the list. Tell Marlu she is an official picture taker.
-
Weather permitting I will be riding.
-
Jen and I are a "possibly" at this time, gonna depend on a birthday party schedule.
-
I will be there and i guess i can bring the wife.... >:D
-
Jen and I are a "possibly" at this time, gonna depend on a birthday party schedule.

How many going from the North (Spring Area) looking to meet up and head towards the others ???

Well, it's kind of a park, but more like a couple of baseball fields, with a golf course next to it:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Hallettsville,+TX&daddr=29.455077,-96.947479&hl=en&geocode=&mra=mi&mrsp=1&sz=15&sll=29.452379,-96.943274&sspn=0.018984,0.038624&ie=UTF8&ll=29.455069,-96.944422&spn=0.006754,0.009613&t=h&z=17 (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Hallettsville,+TX&daddr=29.455077,-96.947479&hl=en&geocode=&mra=mi&mrsp=1&sz=15&sll=29.452379,-96.943274&sspn=0.018984,0.038624&ie=UTF8&ll=29.455069,-96.944422&spn=0.006754,0.009613&t=h&z=17)
We could certainly pull in the parking lot of the baseball fields for a photo, or just take one in the parking lot to the west of the restaraunt, or the large empty lot just to the south:
The lots are gravel/old blacktop, but getting to the baseball fields requires kind of a weird snake around the town square, and I'd hate to lose anyone... :ohwow:
-
OK. Sounds like we would be just as well off staying in the Restaurant area. Park seems to have no advantage. Thanks Jeff.
-
How many going from the North (Spring Area) looking to meet up and head towards the others ???

Ok, cool. Those numbers in parentheses indicates how many are with each name. Like beaux43 is him, and 2 others, for a total of three.
Does this place have enough capacity, for a Saturday at noon? Considering they may have other customers?

Hope everyone has a great time hate to miss this as I do not get to ride much anymore with working out of town. Also hope this gout or whatever it is I have does not stop me from riding just been healthy all my life now semi retire and all this crap comes up.I guess I better not complain to much many more people worse off than myself its just its interfering with all my fun :banghead:
-
Well, I hope everyone made it home fine. Despite the fewer degrees cooler weather we still had a pretty good turn out. counted roughly about 47 bikes and probably a few more peeps than that. Everything went with out a hitch, expcept for one rider that was having charging problems, but hopefully got that fixed and back home safely. We will definetly plan for our second Tri-City Meet & greet in about a few months and I'm hoping we will have better weather. I will post a few pictures later on today or tomorrow. Thanks again to all of you who made it and we hope to see more the next time. :c :bikerider: ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
We just got home and are slowing trying to thaw out. Thanks guys for setting this up, we really enjoyed it, even tho it was too f**king cold. Have a couple of pics I will post later.

Thats a rather astute observation my friend! :agree:
It was great meeting you all today and riding with ya! Hope to do it again soon.
-
Yepers the ride was great and riding with the folks from the north side (Houston)(Dave, Kebs, & Xcaliber) was better :c Definitely need to do this again, in a location that has a better beverage selection :c :c

It was Really nice seeing Ken and Sue again. I haven't ridden with them since the R.O.T. and their company is always enjoyed. Oh yeah and so is yours, DAR, and Gumbo (who mysteriously appeared in front of us after missing our exit).
Good to meet yall today......... And I appreciate the heads up about KEBS driving techniques. ;D

Really nice ride!!. It was nice to finally meet some of ya'll. Great bunch of people in this group. I will say . . . . DAMN IT WAS COLD! I froze my tail off comming back. I had to get back to the house sooner than I had planned so I twisted the throttle a little more. Love that wind chill factor. Wonder what the wind chill factor is with temp at 42 and speed of 90? Hope to see everyone at future rides. I'm really glad to have joined the group. :c
-
I know what you mean about Kebs!! ;D :thatwasclose:
-
k guys need some advice...thinking bout changing my name. Let me know what ya'll think...Sparky or Guardrail?
let the voting begin!!!
had a great time on the ride even if it was cold and some one put that concrete barier right in my way. lol. Guess my guardian angel is pretty fast. anyway, thanks for the invite and keep me inforned on any others
Baron

I vote Guardrail is there a story here that I missed?
-
I vote Guardrail!
and from one who got a front row seat.... yeah, you had someone watching over you.
-
I did not see the event. But it sounds like Guardrail is a good fit. Ride safe ride long
-
KEB, voodoo bring anything to mind ??? ??? It was magic :ohwow:
-
What are you guys talking about?? SPARKY all the way...at least that was what I was seeing while you danced with that guardrail.
-
or there is always................. PuckerFactor
-
Glad you're OK Baron. Hope nothing too serious for you or your bike.
Nice turn-out for this lunch, huh ?! Wish there was more time to get to know everyone.
A group of us who live in sw Houston area had a fun ride back. LoneWolfe got to explore a porta-pottie. Also, our friend with the bad battery's luck ran out - the bike died on Hwy 36. Thanks to Hoss for helping out with that one.
Need to do these regional meets more often.....
-
I saw the post on the Members Forum and suggested Sparky. Didn't know it was suggested here.
-
I vote Guardrail is there a story here that I missed?
for those who don't know, on the ride out of Houston I kissed a guardrail in a turn on 59. no major damage to the bike and none to me so that's the best part. I didn't even look until we got to Richmond but my footboard took the brunt of it. Anyway, everyone behind me said all they saw was sparks and couldn't believe i didn't stop.
so we have several votes for Guardrail, and only one for Sparky. I kinda like Guardrail myself.
-
Sparky, Guardrail...hmm! How about "Brownspot?" :ohwow: Well, at least I thought it was funny! Glad you made the ride safely.
Nice to finally put a name with a face for many of you & great to see some missed friends (VTreX, BIGA & RICKM). Totally enjoyed the ride despite the frigid temps and it was worth getting sick for :pot:. Hope to see & ride with everyone again real soon. Thanks to all for getting this together.

FUN DAY!
The better-half just can't seem to understand how I could possibly have enjoyed being out in the cold for over 12 hours. Great bikes, great ride, warm people, warm cloths. What else can I tell her?
Wasn't there, but it sure sounds like Mr. Sparky-Rail was lucky to have Lucky as his riding pardner. (Did I make a pun?)
David is the one to thank for helping get Justin's Shadow home. All I did was promise the use of Daivd's truck. for a dead battery rescue. (Friends are like that, yea they are.)
Caught up to David at the gas pumps, FM 2218 and Hwy 59, then we hot-footed it to Mo. City for the truck. However, I did enjoy riding back out to Needville in a pickup with the heater cranked all the way up!
Can somebody please let us in of "KEBS driving techniques"? :stickpoke:

My thanks to you both for your assistance in helping out Justin. I'll tell you, riding two up in that wind was tricky at times when it crossed us as hard as it did.

I am sorry that I missed the ride and meeting everyone. :( I am not sorry that I missed the cold. ;D
My Wife and I watch the grandkids on Saturdays when mom and dad are both working. She was sick this weekend so I had to stay and be Papa.
Hope to make the next one.
-
So how many showed up? I haven't seen a count.

I believe I heard 47 bikes don't know how many were 2 up

Hey all, sorry for commenting so late but I wanted to thank you guys for all the help when the bike ran out of battery. Unfortunately I had the battery looked at and they said it was in pretty good shape, so I guess the problem lies elsewhere. I had a blast riding with you all though, and look forward to doing it again once I get this issue resolved!
Thanks again!

Hey Dogmeat,
Good to here from you. Welcome. :good:
Can somebody gives us an idea for his Shadow Sabre with charging trouble. Following him at night after a charge from dlp9mm's pickup we could see his light get bright for a second or two every few minutes. The rest of the time she is not charging. :idontknow:

WAG here. Sounds like the rectifier might be crapped out which less messy than the stator to work on. (not gonna say cheaper, tho.) The bright time can be the rectifier kicking in and out OR just hitting a bump and seeing a temporary change in beam angle and intensity. (I wasn't there and don't know.)
-
Ah yes, it was brightening when I was pulling in the clutch to change gears. Which makes sense I guess, since it's disengaging power to the rear wheel? I haven't had an "episode" since the ride, but I'm still a little hesitant to go anywhere very far... :)
