May Ride
« on: February 23, 2008, 04:01:31 PM »

On May 9th my wife and I Will leave Lubbock and head south to Brownsville.
We then plan to follow the coast to the Louisiana State Line, then through the piney woods and across the State. We would like to know the must see, stay, eat and other points of interest along the way. There is no set route at this time. So if you know of such a place tell us about is so we can see and do it all . we hope to meet at of you along the way. We have to be home by the 17 or 18.

Arturo's in Progresso, Mexico. Just south of Wesleco, Tx. Park on US side and walk across. Great food and a great place to shop. Lot of snow birds Winter there so they cater to US citizens. Garcia's across from Brownsville used to be good as well, haven,t been in a while. Ride safe.

Hey, Lubbock is my old "stompin' ground".  My mom and sister still live there, and I usually come back at least once a year.  Did you grow up in Lubbock?

As far as places to ride, if you can hit the Hill Country area and ride the Three Twisted Sisters (FM 335, 336 & 337), you will not be disappointed, especially coming from flat, dry & dusty West Texas.

I have lived in Lubbock most of my life. Itis a little flat and the dust blows sometimes, however it is a great place to raise a family. We will be going south through the hill country. We have been down those roads a few times as the Lubbock Firefighters go to Hunt every spring. We usually stay at the River Inn Resort. A great place to stay.
Thanks for your imput, we hope to see everyones favorite places.

I wonder if we know each other?  I graduated from Monterey in '90.  Are you older or younger?  :)
