Talk about Meet and Greet Places.........
« on: May 06, 2008, 08:17:40 AM »

Jim and I with several other biker friends went to Bill's Steak House off of Loop 494 and Kingwood Dr.

Jim and I ordered Steak for 2................

This is what they brought out to us.

It was bigger then a Computer Keyboard. We took 3/4 of it home.

I think something like $26.95 with 2 house salads and a large basket of fries................

Yummy, makes me want to go back and see what size they will bring out next time.

Jim and I have been going there for 30+ years and that was the biggest steak we have ever gotten. I think we were just at the right place at the right time.

We used to do Meet'n Eats there, but some time back the owner had a dispute with one of our highly respected members (the dispute had nothing to do with TXRA or the Meet'n Eats). He stated that our group was no longer welcome there, so we haven't gone there for a Meet'n Eat since. Back in the 70s (different owner then) Marigold and I lived in Pasadena, and we used to drive up there for a steak once or twice a month. Back then the steaks ran pretty close, sizewise, to what we got Sunday.

Paul, I didn't weigh it (it was over an inch thick and about 18" X 12") or keep track of the cooking time. The waitress said it was the biggest she's seen served there. I think we waited about 15-20 minutes after we ordered, but the place was packed and I doubt that was all cooking time.

Should not take any longer than any other steak. The thicker the steak the longer for it to cook.

It's not how big around the steak is that determines cooking time, it is how thick it is.

Wow that's a steak!  I had fajitas that night, but the better part was the open margarita machine!

And one most post and Marigold is an OVERLORD!  :)
