Anybody tried Vernon's Kuntry Katfish?

Has anyone tried Vernon's Kuntry Katfish on 105 in Conroe?  They did a lunch at one of our service centers recently.  It was pretty good, both the catfish and the chicken fried steak.  Other than that, I have never heard of it.

Just a thought.  Besides, I'm curious as to what someone else thinks.

Ate there this past Saturday night.  It was VERY good.  Plus the service was outstanding

They have been there for a very long time and have a strong following.  Yum!

I like the Vernon's BBQ and beer garden better. It is east of the catfish place on the opposite side of the road.

If you've had a GOOD catfish meal catered in the Conroe area it probably came from there.

BTW, has anyone here eaten the Bubba Burger at Phil's Roadhouse in Montgomery?

Don't remember which burger it was that I ate there but I had one and it was really good.  I like Phil's Roadhouse.  Have eaten there several times and each time it was worth going back for.

Vernon's is must try in Conroe been there for years. The best time of year to go to Vernon's is the two weeks around Christmas, they serve spiked eggnog with bluebell butter pecan ice cream as a thank you to their customers, they have it in a big punch bowl and you help yourself. I had never had it before and now eggnog will never be the same  ;).  Vernon died a few years ago but he was a friend to everyone he met. He also started the bbq place on the other side of 105, just down the road.

Good place, I am there once a month. 

Vernons BBQ is no relation to the seafood place. 

If you go to phills roadhouse, try thier fried pickles and fried jalapenos.  Stay away from the onion rings....red onions....yuk.

As for burgers, nothing beats Yankees.
