From what all I have read the 16 yr old kid turned himself in that night later on.  I'm sure it was accidental on the kid's part, but no matter what you should never drive away from an accident, especially when a person is hurt.  I'm sorry this kids life will be ruined by this event, but the rider's family's lives have been ruined also.  The kid needs to be seriously dealt with as an adult, but he probably won't.

I have gone on some rides with the guys from motohouston.... they ride like idiots most of the time... hell they have a RIP section on their forum!!!!   I hope they conduct a good investigation but if the houston lab does a crappy job like they have done in the past years, I would hate to be the guy that was driving the car...  specially if he was not at fault
