Ride for the Month of August;
Attached is the ride map to Vanderpool, which we have been tossing around, lets get a consensus (poll) as to who wants to ride on 8/16 to vanderpool. This is a 3 week notice for all to plan ahead if need be..

Oh I say, meet at 8:00 and have KSU at 8:30. most would agree on having the ride during the early coooooler... part of the day.

Also dont want to be selfish here, but is there any volunteers to be the ride captain for this ride....? floor is open....

OK Joe.  I have worked up several different routes for this ride with different miles.  The route posted above is about 165 miles depending on where we start.  If we go this route I'm thinking we can start at Helotes at one of the convenience stores.  The only thing I don't like about this route is the long sort of boring ride on Hwy 90 from Sabinal to San Antonio.  We can change the route a little to make it more scenic if a little longer ride is OK with everyone.  We can make the final decisions tomorrow night at the M/G.  See ya there.

The 8/16 Vanderpool ride was discussed tonight at the 7/30 San Antonio M/G and the final plans were made.   I suggested a different route than I originally planned that will be much more enjoyable and scenic which everyone seemed to agree with.  

The meeting up and starting point will be at the Citco station at Camp Bullis Road and IH 10 West.  0830 meet up and KSU at 0900.  Just take IH 10 West out past Loop 1604 and take the Camp Bullis Exit (Exit 554).  Stay on the access road until you come to the red light and the Citco is on the right.  Plenty of room to park with gas and refreshments before we leave if needed.
Rest stops/breaks are planned for about every 50 miles or so to make sure everyone’s needs are met. More if the need arises.

The ride will end at Chester’s Hamburgers at IH-10 and Wurzbach for eating, smoking, joking, and story telling. You can click on the link below for the route and directions.
Feel free to ask any question.  In order to get a ball park number of folks planning on going please post it on this thread and also indicate if you will be alone or 2-up.
