Post by: Gumbo on January 24, 2011, 08:37:02 AM
Not really an event yet, but we went last year and had a blast  ;D ;D
This year May 6,7,8 plan on making it again, I have made contact with the fella's in LA and they will be glad to assist us finding places to stay if your interested you might want to start thinking about it.

Leave Friday stay over and start out Saturday morning 9AM at Fred's stay until they kick us out and head to Breaux Bridge and catch us some fun.  :c :c :c

Yeah, no offense to anyone in particular, ( you know who you are ;) but I can't possibly spend another night in the same room as the 'wood chipper'  vibrating the walls all night long!
It was a bunch of fun last year, gonna try to make it again this year!

The last time I went to that festival, I got snot slingin on whiskey and MD 20/20, was arrested for stealing a horse, lost my car, got the crud beat out of me - TWICE (Not counting the cops) and had to hitchhike back to Monroe with two closed eyes that made me look like a coon, broken nose, cracked ribs, bones broken in both hands and plenty of blood everywhere.  It was a GREAT time!!  AAAIIIIEEEEEE!

Remindes me of the Jethro Tull line - "Blood dripping down his face"  - or somehing like that!

When we going??

Good to see that things are taking off here on the Texas board. We welcome everyone who can come, and will do our best to show y'all as good of a time as possible. If any of you are interested in entering the crawfish eating contest, I recommend registering early, since they only allow a certain number of entries. I signed up 2 weeks before the festival last year and I took the last spot. There is a link on their website where you can download the entry form and fax it in.

Ok - I'm really just kidding - I would like to say I've lost a good 30 pounds and don't have that wood chipper issue any more but I'm embarrased to say I haven't lost anything but my mind from time to time and all my money.

But on the bright side I haven't noticed myself snoring any more.

Can I still come out and play?   :'(

Well - I'm booked in a single - not to sure about the waiver I had to sign - you guys haven't been talking to the front desk have you?    ;D

Gumbo - just so you don't worry - I cancelled the midget show    and mini donkey I had reserved for you.

Seems NY is too far to travel and they have laws regarding such things.

They wanted your number for the next time you are in town.

Sound like my first attempt at getting a piece of punta.  :couch:

Heck most of the people I work with are from Canada, they hate me :t :t because my state has death sentence and we can have guns.  ::) I just hate them right back no problem.  :ohwow:
N.Y. will last until Aug, but I will be home every 30 days and off for 12.

They finally updated the festival website with this year's schedule:  http://bbcrawfest.com/schedule_of_events.html (http://bbcrawfest.com/schedule_of_events.html)  They still have the entry form for the crawfish eating contest from last year up. I plan on calling them and finding out what the deal is with that, I have a feeling they will tell me to just use the form from last year. It's only a little over a month away, I'm looking forward to it.

Well I have my room reserved - funny I couldn't talk anyone into rooming with me even on the Louisiana side  ???  what's up with that I wonder?

Gumbo - You need to get registered for that eating contest  - we need to have a Texas rep.

I'm a little too small and I tend to snore some when I over eat.  (not bad but it is noticable.)

Plan is mostly the same as last year. Maybe ride to the Bike Barn Friday night. Saturday morning head to Fred's and be back in time for the crawfish eating contest and the afternoon's festivities.

I thought I remember someone from TX saying they wanted to enter the crawfish eating contest. They have updated the website with this year's entry form. I suggest entering ASAP. Last year I entered the week before the festival and I got one of the last spots. Be not afraid! The contest is a blast! Worse case senario you get all the crawfish and beer you can handle for $25. It's a win/win situation.

Here's the plan for Saturday's ride to Fred's in Mamou. We will meet at the Burger King/Mobil gas station just south of the Breaux Bridge exit on I-10. KSU will be at 9 a.m. sharp. It should take us about an hour or so to ride to Mamou and then we'll have a couple of hours to hang out at Fred's and enjoy the music before leaving for Breaux Bridge by 12:30 at the latest.

Got nuthin to do with Bro's. There was 5 in that room before the morning I think he was alone. I snore and I have heard some folks that snore really loud but Air traffic control was routing Airliners around the hotel due to severe Hangman snoring turbulence. he was knocking small aircraft out of the air. Unreal. Chad can verify as he spent the night in a car!
