I always take a Google map mileage and divide it by 50.  I have found that that gives me a very realistic estimate of travel time less any rest stops I make.

So in this situation you are looking at 211 miles divided by 50 which would give you 4.22 hours.  If you leave at 8 am you would be arriving at Maw Maw's at 12:20 or so.

OK, I could not find the route from last time, but here is one I just put together to get there. Alright Bryce, give us a route back!

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=2710+Meadow+Tree+Ln,+Spring,+TX&daddr=FM+1484+Rd+to:FM+3081+Rd+to:FM-945%2FRR+2+to:FM+224+Rd+to:FM-356+to:TX-94+to:FM-2501%2FFM-357%2FTX-7+to:FM-228+to:32.022049,-95.101776+to:1010+Highway+110+North,+Whitehouse,+TX&geocode=%3BFUhVzwEd5FJR-g%3BFcSO0AEdNANS-g%3BFTjp0gEdVnVT-g%3BFTJ60wEds05U-g%3BFe6N1wEd7s5S-g%3BFYGH2wEdkmxV-g%3BFVQp3gEdZW9U-g%3BFUiD4gEdklRR-g%3B%3B&hl=en&mra=dpe&mrcr=0&mrsp=9&sz=11&via=1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9&sll=31.923027,-95.311203&sspn=0.261093,0.615921&ie=UTF8&ll=31.791221,-94.894409&spn=1.045857,2.463684&z=9

hmmm...

in Davy Crocket national forest... you got us leaving hwy7 to do a loop around around Lee lake.  This is forest service road 520.... you sure that road is paved?  Most FS roads are not paved.

Are you sure you did not drag something around by accident. Close your link and open up a new one, I see the loop you are talking about but mine does not show us going around it.

Hey on my trip back from IL, I never once used a map, just used the sun as my guide and it took me on quite the ride.  ;D ;D
