Hi Larry,

Good to hear from you!

We are moving to our new building this weekend.  We will be closed on Monday, June 8, 2009, for set up and health department inspections and will reopen on Tuesday, June 9, 2009.  The new building is about 1 block north of our old building (1010 Highway 110 North, Whitehouse, Texas, 75791).

We look forward to seeing you and the gang!

Sandra and Nell

New location  :lunch: :lunch:

Ok we'll meet y'all in Malakoff at 10 and should put us there at 11:30ish.  :cool2:

Then on the way back we'll need to find anything with an expiration date of 73109 on the bottle and help the proprietor of the fine establishment we check, delete his inventory of out of date brew. Hard job but somebody has to do it!  :c :c :c
Where's Dusty when you need him??

The cafe in Malakoff is on highway 31 about 2 blocks past highway 198 on the right. Don't know the name but I'll find out. We'll meet there about 9:30-10:00 for breakfast. That will give us plenty of time to make Whitehouse by noon.  :lunch:

The proprietors of the local establishments will be delighted to have our help. Personal experience has taught me that there is an evaporation problem around here. When the bottle or can is opened, it immediately starts to evaporate at a highly accelorated pace. Alone, I can't eliminate the problem as there seems to be a gravity problem also...

Anyone else that may be in the area is more than welcome to join us and help. Think of it as community service...

You can probably count on Wayne and I to want to go to Maw Maw's in the future.  We were planning on going 8/1, but if the weather is as hot as it has been  or if it is raining we are backing out of the ride.

Matter of fact, if I thought it would make it rain, I would cancel my Georgia trip and ride naked.  :ohwow:

A big purple baboon riding naked?? ?? ??  :what:  :cantbelieve:  :ohwow:  Uhhhh, see you guys another ride  :t  JK
Actually the way to get it to rain is to wash and detail your bike  :cuss:

OK, in that case, I will keep the Montana bugs and dirt on mine.

Well, it appears I might be going to my niece's 3rd b-day in Madisonville, LA on Saturday.  It's still up in the air, but we'll probably end up going.  I love 12 hour round trips in a car...on I-10 ::)
::)
Louisiana or MawMaws?? I vote MawMaws!!  ;D

OK, lets meet at the Raceway at 45 and FM 2920 at 8:00AM. Head up to Conroe and pic up Rex's crew and head up. This should put us there around 11:30.

Anyone have a route they want to use, or do yall want to use the route from last time?

When you route google down back roads, it really doesn't figure time well. It is only 211 miles and if you divide that up by 7 hours, you are only averaging about 30 miles an hour. It said the same thing last time we went but it actually took up about 3 1/2 hours.

I always take a Google map mileage and divide it by 50.  I have found that that gives me a very realistic estimate of travel time less any rest stops I make.

So in this situation you are looking at 211 miles divided by 50 which would give you 4.22 hours.  If you leave at 8 am you would be arriving at Maw Maw's at 12:20 or so.

Hey on my trip back from IL, I never once used a map, just used the sun as my guide and it took me on quite the ride.  ;D ;D

Well not sure if we will make it this weekend. :banghead:  The whole house is sick and I have missed 4 days of work because of fluid on my ear.  I can't even walk straight so I know I can't get on a bike. :(  Maybe it will be gone by Saturday but it is not looking good.  Sorry!

We’ve got Saturday marked on our calendar and are excited to see all y’all!!!  We’ve actually been working on a gumbo fried pie for you since this morning, so you’ll have to let us know how you like it.  Who knows, might be the next pie on the menu permanently.

Have a safe trip up here and we’ll see you Saturday.

Take care,

Right Hobo, you and Hooter HAD to wait out the storm in a bar. Your breaking my freakin' heart :c Just got home today. No rain, but took a bird strike to the head at 70mph! Glad I was wearing a helmet so I wasn't injured. Bet that bird won't do that again!
  But you will!!!  :congrats:

Don't feel too sorry for us, the place just happened to be right there when the bottom fell out. Convenient, huh? You'd almost think we'd planned it that way. ... :c :c :c :c :c

Glad your 'noggin didn't take a beatin' from the bird. ... :thatwasclose:

Well that was Hobo's side of the story and he may stick to it but I think he was auwful wet when we got to that watering hole for the bottom to have just dropped out and the bar be conveniently located there. I recall a few miles, he sez 5 or 6 but I think his speedo is wack-o!    I sweare it was futher than that, before we could duck into our first watering hole to check the freshness dates on several bottles of necture and hops. I'm happy to report neither he nor I and our 2 assistants found any Miller or Budwieser product failed the test, so feel free to sample these products with confidence knowing it's been checked by the best testers in the field!. I'm sorry to say though that we did find a bottle of Vodka and a bottle of Clamato juice and some Worcestershire that had not meet the standards of the code so we took them completely outa service for your safety!
I would like to say now for the record that Mike, Lynn, and his mom were excellant hosts and we, (Susie and I) had a great time! I will caution anyone for future reference purposes, if you do swing by their place sometime, stay the night, whatever it is that gets you by there to be very careful! Below is a picture of some kinda unapproved liquid and packaging by the FDA that will make you wonder if you ever sobered up from the night before. He called it homeade Amaretto. It was good, yes good and don't get me wrong but 1 cup of coffee at 9 am and I was still concerned about riding home at noon! Use extreme caution when confronted by Hobo and this bottle!

Hey! you found my medicine! It's certainly good for what ails 'ya. I did have to come up with some creative labeling, Wouldn't want mom thinking she's having Arizona Green Tea. Specially after that home made wine incident... :thatwasclose:

You're right, it's not FDA approved. Or CIA approved either, but I think the FBI wants to speak to me. They said something about being SOL, ASAP. ... :what:

I'm so excited... :couch:

I counted 16 bikes in attendance for the fried pie run. It was great.

I think we're referring to the "real" dirt road we found on the way back!  :ohwow:  But I forgot about the National Forest park road that was missing some pavement!

That's 'cause he don't know how to ride!  :stickpoke:

The last time Ron and I happened to be on a dirt road was when we decided to follow a couple of guys to check out an old wooden bridge out in the middle of BFE!!!  I lost a Stebel horn to that road after the heavens opened up while we were riding on it.

But we did find the wooden bridge!  ;D
