Marble Falls Area Ride This Weekend 11-18-06
« on: November 13, 2006, 08:48:01 PM »

I have to be in Marble Falls for work on Friday 11-17-06.  Anyone want to meet up there and ride this weekend?  I'll have to trailer my bike up there Thursday night. I should be done with work around 3:00 PM Friday and we can meet up after that.  I'd like to hit Lano on Saturday for BBQ and ride somewhere on Sunday morning, then back on the trailer and head home that afternoon.  Anyone have suggestions for good roads in that area. Blue I rode my bike to Marble Falls on Labor day, there is a park road north of Marble Falls before you get to Burnett (can't remember the Highway #) it goes to Kingsland, good twisty. From Kingsland you can go to Lano highway. After you get through in Lano you can go to Johnson City and back around. Really good ride. O0

I am not sure if I can take a ride this weekend or not....... may have baby setting duties.

There are several cool routes that you could take around here. One of my favorites is to go south on 281 to FM 1323 over to Willow City, then you can take the Willow City Loop which will loop around to HWY 16 then head North to LLano. ......... I could go on and on and on and on  O0 O0 O0 ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D

there is a more obscure and less travelled route that I take at times . as a matter of fact I played hookie from work last weds and rode this.

get to Llano by whichever route you chhose, go north on 16 to Cherokee ( halfway between Llano and San Saba on 16) turn right onto FM581 take this to Bend Texas where you then take 580 into Lampasas ............. i met one pickup between Cherokee and Bend the other day ....... it was like I had the entire road to myself.

there are some twisties on Park Road 4, but this road is actually not very long, however, it is an awesome ride with some spectacular views ...................and I should warn you that you should beware of meandering deer , they are like pets along the lake at the western end of Pk Rd 4 ........ they will meander right out in front of you and they appear to be starting the rut which can also be a hazard.
