New to the Board - Introduction
« on: May 05, 2006, 06:10:21 AM »

I am new to this board, though I've been working the VTX Cafe board for a while.  I didn't realize we had so many X riders around the Houston area.

I live up in Kingwood and spend half my life working over in West Africa, and the other half trying to make up time with the wife and my VTX.  I got back into riding after getting the kids out of the house.  I totaled my last bike after hitting a dog at 60 MPH right after our first was born.  The Boss said she wasn't raising this kid alone - so no more bikes until they were safely out.  Didn't keep me from keeping the dream alive.
Finally broke her down last June and bought a new 1800 F Spec 1.  Been re-learning to ride ever since - even took the MSF beginner's course to get me back up to speed.

I don't get much time to get out since the Boss has a big list of Honey-Do's when I get home, but would like to meet up whenever I can do it.  I'll be trying to make one of the Meet & Eat sessions in the near future.

I'm a ship Captain and have sailed off and on for the last 33 years.  I'm presently working as a pilot for large tankers mooring to an offshore buoy where we load them direct from production facilities located about 70 miles offshore.  It's a great job as I get to meet and work with all nationalities and backgrounds.  It definitely keeps life interesting to hear about all the different places in the world.  It also makes me proud to be an American!

Enough!!!  Just wanted to say hi.

Ah - Another dude from "South" Porter.  That makes at least two Porter-icans.

Welcome to the board!  Be sure to make one of the Wednesday Meet n Greet so you can buy us all a beer. 8) ;)

(Kidding - You don't have to buy the beer)
