I started this yesterday with a ride down to Goliad, the site of the massacre of 341 Texas revolutionaries , thats more than was killed at the Alamo and San Jancinto combined. If you call yourself a Texan this is a MUST trip. If you just like history or visiting a really cool town, this place is neat.
Texas Passport: 175th Anniversary of the Texas Revolution
2011 marks the 175th Anniversary of the Texas Revolution. The Texas Historical Commission has put together a program entitled "PassPort to Texas History". They have created a passport pamphlet with seven sites to visit in Texas. When you visit each site your passport is stamped. When you have completed the seven stops, you mail your passport in for a commemorative gift. Your passport and commemorative gift will be mailed back to you. Passports must be postmarked on or before Dec. 31, 2011.
