But not near as much fun. The tent sites are down by the river. They have nice restrooms and showers. I have tented it there before. You don't want to commute.

I've also got the aerial view of the park and of the south end of Bandera showing the park's proximity to local saloons and restaurants, etc here:

As you can see, once the bike is parked it's possible to walk into to town for most anything you need. :thumbup:

Groups? Mainly just us Texas X Riders. Some of us have committed 11 years to the BBT. I've only been around for 6 years. We try to encourage anyone to attend.

Hi Guys, I have been corresponding with Gumbo about attending this year's rally. I have been lurking on here gathering info to pass along. I am trying to get a few guys together, so far it is my wife and I and another possibly two other couples who rides Goldwings. We will be in RV's, I will be pulling by bike behind my 5th wheel and the other two have toyhaulers. As Gumbo mentioned in an earlier post, I have a 5 gallon Jambalya Pot that I will be bringing to cook up a Jambalya. My wife will be making our reservations this week, is there a certain area she needs to ask for or just have her mention the TexasXriders and they will put us with you guys?

I am working in LA for a couple of months, and will make sure to stuff a small 30 pound or so pig with Don's Boudin and sew it up, cook it whole, nice and slow.

A few suggestions:
slowest bike wins - see how slow you can go without putting your feet down on the ground while staying in your lane
skills layout - cones set out to go around to practice skills - timed
hoop catch - set plastic cylinders on top of cones and passenger uses lance to gather them - timed

Typically any ride in the morning will have a Kick stand up around 8 a.m.. I will let others chime in.

Also this year we are bringing back "The Biker Games", so you'll definitely want to to attend and hell even participate.

That evening we have a dinner and bike show. If you didn't pre-register the meal pass will be $15.00 per person and will at least include an event BBT 2014 pin.

Would be great for you guys to stop by and enjoy the day with us.

Oy! are there any rides leaving later? My daughter has a soccer game at 10am, so we won't make it out there until around noon(ish).

Post by: matap on April 21, 2014, 08:41:07 AM: More than likely not. Historically, we haven't had any rides start that late due to everyone trying to be back for the hosted dinner and bike show that evening.

There may be some stragglers that are willing to wait or want to start later. Since we are in Bandera this year it's possible to do the whole loop in 5-6 hrs. You could be back by 5-6 in the evening although missing the biker games, but doable.

The Bike Games start at 3pm. If nothing else it would be a great way to meet some people and possibly set up future riding companions.

I will be getting there before noon on Thursday. Plan to do some kind of a ride that afternoon/evening.

Are there any organized dinner plans on Thursday night? What about breakfasts on Fri/Sat/Sun. I am willing to help with clean-up and contribute cash if there plans.
