wide tire and frame?

If you go to a wider tire (240, 280 etc.) I know about new swing arms, but what is done to the rear struts/frame that the fender bolts to?  I see the Sumo, etc, fenders, are those on the stock frame struts?

Some people bend them out.  Glacial Graphics uses different struts.  I believe you cut your struts right past the 1st bolt hole with that kit.  Look on http://www.vtxoa.com/forums/index.php for 240 kits and you will find a wealth of information.
