06 VTX 1800C Vance & Hines install

Anybody ever installed these on your ride. I just bought a set (bigshots) for my '06. V & H tech support is telling me that you have to pysically pull the pipes apart 3/4" to 1" in order to get around the fins and position on the head. I have tried to install them twice with no luck. The tolerances are so close I'm afraid its gonna scratch up my bike. They just don't seem like they are the right pipes. :( :'( Any advice?

They'll go on...  You need a buddy there to help make sure you're not rubbing/scratching anything on the bike.  I put them on my '02 C years ago by myself and still today can't figure out how I did it without help.

Yea you guys are sick... :DI think I'm gonna try it tonight. :-\ I may call you Brad if your available! If not then maybe tomorrow. I know Kirk (christrider) is wanting to go for a ride Sat aftn. He just bought a Rune.....chrome out & black!! Looks pretty sweet. O0 O0 O0 Might you be available?
