06 vtx 1300 hard starting when hot

Where should I start.  Today after an hour ride the bike cranked a little and I thought it kicked back just before it started.  It seems to run OK.  Is it A/F ?

Sometimes a motor with a carb will do that. They use to call it vapor lock. My 1300 will do it every now and then.
