I've made my own air intake using Duc's instructions from the bareasschoppers page but adapted it to my 1300. I cut another piece of sheet metal to go on the back of the filter assembly and then cut out the hole for the carb and drilled the holes for the mounting screws.
My question: Do you think the o-ring between the carb and the back of the filter assembly is enough of a gasket??? Or should I use liquid gasket??? or something else???
