Can't we just all go riding and stop arguing. A good board would be minimal posts and alot of riding.

I hate that it has come to this but I agree something needs to be done. I personally liked the original inclination of this board;IE; Anything may be discussed here. Nothing was "off limits", Free to post whatever concerned you. Of course, that was while individuals "policed" their own actions... and nothing much got out of hand, not too many toes got stepped on. I hate the Board police idea as a concept, because I wish we could have kept it under control and not been subject to Big brother having to clean up our act for us.
   But, I guess the time has come. I just hope that the reaction is not a overreaction and the younger riders not chastized for doing what the site says:" Feel free to talk about anything and everything in this board."That is what they understood they were allowed to do, so yeah, they felt put upon when they were told to watch it by people they had neither met or possibly even had heard of. Now the newer riders are being told by some that what they talk about doesn't amount to anything, they should curtail it. That isn't what they understood this site to be about. That isn't WHAT I THOUGHT THIS SITE IS ABOUT. I thought they were keeping the majority of thier "BS" in the North/northeast Texas area anyway, they all communicated freely enough without bickering among themselves. Wouldn't think some bs posting would cause such a ruckuss....but then, most of my viewing of late has been from work, and photobucket hosted pics don't show up on my computer at work, so I really haven't seen the Pics that are being discussed (dayum...I missed them again ) or, I'm sure, seen all the inflammatory posts that has led to this. So, there may have been more reason for individuals to tell them what not to do than I think they should have. I don't profess to know the whole story.
   I have taken liberty in the past to post some pics that were a little racy, my horsegirl had no clothes on, after all. My Svetlana post was a parody I created  http://www.texasxriders.com/index.php?topic=1167.0 because something had been censored  and it was about the first "censorship" I had seen and hated to see it coming. This board was not created as a "family" board, although that seems to be what it is soon to become, if the moral majority have their way, as it seem THEY will. The old board had not mentioned porn as something prohibited or accepted, either way. Tapper, whom I really considered the "father" of this site had as a avatar a fine naked chick draped on a harley, just barely covering all the "highpoints" with bike parts.
This is why I feel we lost many just at the mention of becoming a R/C, because they feared BIG BROTHER was coming. Well, unfortunately,he's here, he's not going away, so all that remains to be seen is who's left after the fall out. I'm not sure if I will be either, but hey guys...it's your site, do with it what you will. I'm sure no one will be sorry to see me go, except maybe a few of the older riders, and possibly a few younger ones, that, while they didn't agree with me about much, were good friends. Ride Safe.

As I've mentioned, I DO NOT own this site, therefore I cannot just assume that porn is allowed.  If I was paying for the bandwidth and if I ran it, then I would have a section that would be open to anything and everything.  However, I don't so I can't.  If you want straight up porn, there are millions of other websites to curtail your desires.  I'll even e-mail you a few if you so desire.

The old boards never had this problem because it was a smaller group and most of us have met in person and knew each other.  Now we have lots of new members so it's harder to keep "order".  I do not like policing, but with more people come more personalities and more issues/views.  This includes arguing and subjects that some don't agree with.  

I'm really trying to keep this as neutral as possible.  Most seem to see the post as positive, but I already know of 2 people who said they're going to stop posting or are leaving because they feel I stepped on their right to post whatever they want.  Maybe I have, but as I've stated there is no way I can please everyone.  I AM an old timer on the board so I KNOW how it was.  Nobody is telling me anything new, but I also realize that some things are changing and I'm willing to adjust to accommodate new members  

I have YET to target anyone in particular and I also never said we're making a major overhaul.  This site is about making friends and talking about the VTX or any other bike someone is interested in.  When I start getting flooded with pm's and people actually CALL me, it's time to take a look at what's going on.

Please go find a forum who has as many active members as we do, where ANYTHING is allowed to be posted and tell me what kind of atmosphere they have.  I'm on 7 active message boards and I know that we can't continue to grow with 0 policies and maintain a civil group.  Personalities won't let it happen.

If you have any real criticism's or suggestions to improve the board, feel free to pm or e-mail me.  I take opinions seriously.  Ask tejasx who just left yesterday.  I chased him down as soon as I saw he was leaving.  I don't need to hear how the board is going downhill and your civil rights have been violated.  The board is not changing for the worst and the only rights that are allowed are what the PAYING owner allows.  Who of which, I haven't heard from in 2 years, so I'm trying to handle the site the best I can.  I'm truly sorry that I can't please everyone.

Wasn't trying to bust your chops Brock...I've always felt you are doing great. I'd hate to see how many PM's you have to keep up with, much less everything else. Just lamenting over the loss of "innocence", or more aptly, the way things were. LOL. Things change, and as I said... I see the need for it. Actually, I think after the newer people realize they are subject to rules (besides the porn one...they couldn't have missed that one) that were not spelled out(IE:Feel free to talk about anything and everything= Feel free to talk about anything and everything others care to hear about), I think all will settle in. Also, I know where to get porn, I'm not advocating a porn section...it's just that I have heard many saying that this is a "family" site...was just pointing out what it originally was, and lamenting it's passing. There was no porn then, either.
