So, where to start.  First off, being the administrator I have to try and make decisions to please everyone.  Possible?  Not likely, but I do what I can and I feel that I try to be pretty fair.  In the past 2 weeks I have received no less than 15 pm's and 2 phone calls regarding the friction that's been going on the board.

One issue it would seem, is the new members not seeing eye to eye with the older members and vice versa.  As far as I can remember, the board has been around for +/- 6 years and I've been a member for over 4 years.  In those 4 years I've seen more members WILLINGLY leave in the past month due to the direction the board is heading in.  Whether they're right in doing so is not my decision to make.  It's theirs...but I can say that I don't like it.  I'll touch on this more in a minute.

The other is this is a motorcycle board, but it's also somewhat a family board.  So, it's hard to balance what's acceptable and what's not unless you're perfectly clear about what's allowed.  Blatant porn for instance is not allowed until the owner of the board says otherwise...which is not I.  Well then Brock, what is allowed?  Respectful nudity or sexual innuendo?  It depends on the person viewing it.  I wasn't a fan of Hitler, so for the time being please use your judgment and remove VERY obvious pictures that would offend your mama.  Bouncing breasts, lubed up women, and spread eagle included unless otherwise designated in a SPECIFIC board.  That includes signatures and avatars.

Back to the first issue are the attitudes as of late.  I've seen more members cussing at each other and throwing names out more than I ever have.  It's looking like vtxoa in here and that will NOT continue as long as I'm an admin.  You got a SERIOUS beef with someone?  PM or e-mail them.  Public arguments will happen, but the page after page of trash talking stops.  Keep it off the board, please.  I have yet to use the ban stick on a legitimate member, but I do keep it nearby and polished with pledge.

I am extremely happy that this board is continuing to grow and we see new members fairly frequently, but let's not run them or the old members off shall we?  Keep the topics related to whatever board you're reading posts in or are about to post in.  If you have any questions or opinions on anything that's been discussed please feel free to pm or e-mail me at j1mmyj4m @ hotmail.com.

I for one, being a MEMBER OF THE BOARD (BOD) thinks it time for the trouble makers to stop the BS.. You can chose the the members you want here Brock and the members you don't!  This board was built by the old timers, some of who don't even know the handle weedeater, the guy that built this site to begin with, much less the newer guys..

I would still consider making them there own forum that only they, the people that allowed access to read Brock, so the rest don't have too!!

Who am I? I've only been here sense day one and must say the glory days have past us by...

I apologize for my abusive behavior and personal attacks.

But, I have sat here and watched this board go down hill while nothing was done to curtail it. I know you don't have time to babysit this board constantly and it's a delicate balance to maintain but the action you have taken is all I was hoping to see happen. It's really great to see some action taken. I use to think lamonster was going overboard but I was wrong. The vtxoa is back to being a pretty decent place to hang out again.
Maybe we need a Sargent-At-Arm to push the delete button to take the responsibility off of you. The BOD could vote on the remove or not remove.

Well...The end of an era.

Being "Mr. Troublemaker", you'll be surprised to find out that I agree with this and have have said so before. I never could figure out why there was all this aingst, acrimony, moral condemnation and whining over things posted on this site...yet it was all allowed to endlessly flap in the wind....when a button would shut it down.

My crime  ...having fun with it...and with creative flair at times. (Judge Ito was my finest moment)

On other forums, motorcycle and otherwise the rules are posted, no porn, no politics, no religion, no acrimnony....which maintains a cordial atmosphere...and which I have no problem adhereing to....well...very little problem.

The laissez faire quality of this forum has been a great experience though. The internet and the culture here has provided an extraordinary look at group dynamics that can't be had other places in life. At an advanced age, (KMA BigPro) I've learned a lot about people that I didn't realize and I'm grateful for that.

But alas, my run here is over. Without hard feelings, it appears time for us mischievous ones to withdraw so that those of you who want, can try a more cordial forum.

The other benefit of withdrawal... I won't have to listen to my wife say, "What the hell comes over you when you sit down in front of that idiot computer."    to which, I don't really have an answer.

Good luck with the new format.

ps. I am just about to finish the best song I've done. I"ll probably post that. Have always enjoyed the pleasant words and compliments, that I received about the songs.

First, no I haven't been here from the beginning, but I have been here since this whole episode blew up. It started with a bunch of us kidding around with each other and was mistaken for some serious problem. As I stated in another post the same guys that ORIGINALLY were poking fun at each other are all still riding together.
The sad part is that the knee jerk reaction has happened and the over regulation has started.
I may or may not like every subject or every picture here but I do like that someone took time to build a site so that we all may connect on info about meet and greets and rides to happen.
The parts of the site I don't like, I simply don't go there. I do however agree that we need to stay within certian boundaries pertaining to porn. This is not a porn site.
Split the site and say you guys stay over here and yall go here, thats just crazy. Let's say screw all this political BS and get back to rides, the garage, help with bike problems and friendly conversation without over regulation.
Above all other problems we are loosing some good people due to this reaction not to the original so called problem.
That's my 2.5 cents and hell no I'm not leaving,

When I first got my bike - In the Beginning - I learned more about everything there was to know about bikes than I ever could have from a book.  All of that was learned or at least read on this site and the VTXOA.  There was always crap going on on the VTXOA, but some good stuff to be learned on maintenance and improving your bike.  I quit going to the VTXOA, because I found ppl here on this board that I had met, that I had ridden with, and that like me wanted a good place to be and have contact with people they had met and for the most part had one thing in common...a VTX.  For the most part that still exists along with a lot of other bs. 

Thanks Brock for taking the initiative to try and set this board back in the direction it was intended...I for one remember Weedeater and Tapper and some of the others that were here back In The Beginning.... I wasn't here on day one, but it was probably day 4 or 5 when I found this site.

I have been on this board for awhile (4 yrs) and it has gotten to the point where I don't open certain peoples posts because I know it will contain something from the Hustler Magazine....and NO I Do Not read Hustler. (if you get to be my age you would have heard and seen alittle of everything).

Yes....I know this is a motorcycle board and I hate that someone say "If you ride a motorcycle you need to be open minded to the XX-Rated pictures and language that is spoken here".. Wrong. Not everyone that rides a motorcycle is trash mouth or have their mind in the gutter. I enjoy a little risque joke now and again but not to the point that I have to see and read it all of the time.

I for one would not be offended if Brock made a section for Pron or Dirty jokes.

Be respectful to others.

There already is a section on the board for harder stuff.  The Politically Incorrect board.  No porn is allowed, but all else is pretty much open game.

I appreciate what you are doing here.  As a woman and an avid reader of the board (for just about 4 years now) I applaud this.  I am by no means a prude but a lot of posts have gone too far, especially the photos.  I'm sure the guys wouldn't like it if we women posted men parts in the same manner and I have refused to stoop to that level.  The folks that want to participate need to go to the politically incorrect area so we can choose to read or not.  As for me, I don't visit that area.  Again, thanks for stepping up!

I agree as well. I'm pretty new and I don't think I've overstepped any boundaries, but if I have, I apologize. I too have gained a lot of valuable knowledge and am looking forward to riding with you all and hearing some of your stories...especially from the older generation. I would hate to lose that, so you can count on me to do my part.

Just received an appreciated pm. Someone that I like said they appreciated my friendship and didn't want me to take my ball and go home.  To take your ball and go home, you have to be mad and I'm not.

From my point of view N5TWL nailed it. I always start out kidding someone without malice, usually that I know well...and through some convoluted route, some kidding that started out as just cutting up ends up an argument

It usually ramps up when it hits on a touchy, usually thin skinned personality who takes offense that someone would have the audacity to say whatever was said. Then it just becomes emotional, and flares up.  Lube it with some Jack Daniels and you have a AppleSauce storm.

After slamming into this more than anyone else here, I have come to the conclusion that it is not unique to this group but true of all groups. It is just group dynamics. Things often settle at the lowest common denominator because some individual puts them there.

So...as a practical matter...I think you have a choice, have rules and enforce them or live with turbulence.  You can suggest to angry and controlling types to ease up, but they can't. It's what they do.

For me, I am a behavior problem since birth. Nothing bad, just C's in conduct. I'm married for eighteen years to a woman that likes my bullshit and thinks nothing of it...most days.

I don't want to change my nature, but I realize, that it is not unreasonable for a group of people to reach a consensus about polite behavior and standards of conduct. And as stated above, there appears to be a practical choice to be made, that can't be calibrated.

So, at the risk of my mischievousness setting off anymore chain reactions that end up in a melt down, I have chosen to withdraw from forum postng.   Without resentment.
