When I ride it is like all my worries have gone away!! You are like one with your enviroment, taking everything in. There is a sign that says something to the effect: You will never see a motorcycle parked in from of a shrinks office!

I enjoy the sense of smell.  When we're on the bikes, everything smells so good.  Especially restaraunts.  Even McDonalds smells better when passing by on two wheels.   :lunch:    :pot:

In all honesty, as a new rider, I initially got the bike for my commute (50 miles a day, round trip, bad for the pocket book in the Jeep), but the more I ride the more I want to ride. Every day on the bike is better than the one before and I'm loving the thrill of discovering just how much fun it is. Can't wait to start doing day rides!

Yep, that is why we first got bikes too...to save money.  Wayne and I both have 100 mile/day commutes to/from work.  So we got the bikes to save money...problem is that we spend just as much on gas now since we ride the bikes for fun on the weekends too....but you know what....it is sooooo worth it.

If you don't love what you're doing, then don't do it.
Your chances of success are directly proportional to the degree of pleasure you derive from what you do.

As a kid, me and my best friend always said that when we grew up, we were going to get bikes and ride cross country. We got the bikes in our early 20's, his new and mine was used and constantly breaking down. We never made that trip together and life's road had a fork in it. We took seperate routes. He had severe twitching problems!  :t

I don't like tinkering with it as much anymore but riding is just about the only place I can find that adrenaline rush and nothing clears your head like proping your feet up on the hi-way bars, laying back and twisting the wick.   :bikerider:

So long since you twisted your wick or since you went for a ride?  :stickpoke:

Gumbo, you know that you never go in the garage; you really just stay-in, look-at-it and then you tinker with it...

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally wornout, shouting..."What a Ride!"

My bike was my "divorce" gift to myself back in '03.  ;D  I grew up riding dirt bikes, but always wanted to get a streetbike and hit the open road.  I love to travel by vehicle (rather than fly), so the m/c was a natural progression for me to see this great country of ours from a new perspective.

I'm still in love...
