Title: Local X Rider (Humper) went down yesterday
Post by: Morgan Buchanan on May 11, 2009, 01:29:52 PM
I remembered Jeff's handle on here...Humper...  He and his (Yamaha riding) buddy Marc come down to Twin Peaks Lewisville most Thursday nights.  Anyway, I guess Jeff crashed his 1300C pretty hard yesterday, and is in the hospital.  Fractured hip and some other bones it sounds like.  Hope to have more info soon.

He's in Baylor downtown, doing fine, and expects to be down 4-6 weeks.  Single bike accident, on a curve up in the Denton area.

Anyone know Jeff's last name?  I might be in the downtown area today on business and will stop by the hospital.

I don't know his last name...  darn it I should have looked earlier... I went up to see him with a bunch of the regular Thursday Twin Peaks guys.  He has a fractured pelvis and 4 fractures in the transverse processes in his back.  Nothing that keeps him from walking, just things that make walking REALLY painful.  He's doing ok.  From talking to his buddy Marc, it doesn't sound like the bike is all too bad off.  Sounds like he was taking a right hand curve, put hard parts down, rolled off the throttle and maybe high-sided a little... as "little" as you can high side.  He was probably going less than 30 when he lost control.  Care flighted to Baylor because he wasn't wearing a helmet and he was bleeding from a gash in his scull, so they didn't take any chances, but the CT was clear.

Damn, he is one fortunate guy....glad to hear his injuries were not fatal.
