Title: STATEWIDE M&G PROPOSED LOCATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Post by: snake on January 12, 2008, 03:52:28 AM
AAAllllright guy'n'gals, what makes a good statewide meet and greet area? The most obvious to me is it's ability to draw a good crowd, which kinda' says that the more people it is close to, the more you will get. Hence our best drawing meet and greets will be the more central to everyone. The map below depicts where 90-95 % of our group lives. So the central area in there woiuld probably draw the most riders.I suggest we start with a more central location to begin again, then rotate to areas towards the compass points inside the box, like Waco, Nacodoches...etc. Then the "fringe" areas, towards the corners and outside the "box". Just an idea, give us other opinions/input
please.

Requirements for a good M & G spot?

Location, location
Good food!
Ability to handle the "gang"
Alcohol available/allowed (not a "must", I guess, but really welcome)
Good roads coming from all directions
Naked dancing girls (well maybe not naked, and maybe not "required", but damn nice to mix in!)

GOT ANOTHER REQUIREMENT IDEA? LET ME KNOW WHAT I LEFT OUT!

If you find a deserving place, speak up. If it's next door to ya, you can ride out and catch up with a group comin' in, and still make a ride of it. We have a perfect place up here that fills the bill, except for the distance any would have to come from. I consider it for a "fringe" area meet and greet, once we're rolling again. I figure a more central area to kick us off, like the mexia/palestine area, but thats not set in stone either. I guess we won't catch Anna Nicole around Mexia, but then, I've never seen Waylon at the bbt either!
Bottom line...if you find it, we will come. Anyone knowing of a good place, let us know.
Give us your suggestions.

NOTE! A nice park area for a picnic type M & G would be great also, so don't forget an area like that. I can pack in plenty of beer and food on my scoot, for those of you without saddlebags (you know who you are...Kebs, Big Pro...etc ;D) Others can pack in for ya' if needed.

Past S/W M&G's have been in:
Nacodoches (good turn out there, about 60-70 bikes at a more eastern location)
Waco (great turn out there also, another 70 or so) at Buzzaerd Billy's
Temple(Well, kinda sound like a broken record here again, great 60-70 or so) for white wings

The majority of the riders would have to be from the high density locations of Houston, Dallas and the Austin/San Antonio areas.

If you can think of any more requirements or Statewide M&G areas we've been to that I left out, pitch it in here!

(actually, the place I was going to suggest here's web site is down, not sure if they are there still or not. But, to get the idea in...)

Fringe area

Ne corner inside the box: Cajun Cowboy Steakhouse and club, Omaha Texas
Been there numerous times. Everything from alligator to burgers on the menu. Good spicy cajun style food. I give an average of about a 6-7 on the 10 scale for the food, ambiance: a 8-9. LARGE five level club and restaurant, two overhead levels looking down on stage/dance areas. 7-8 different sized rooms available, game areas etc. Can accomodate about 200 or so. Good roads in/around.

I guess 250 miles outside the "BOX" would be a fringe area. ;D ;D

The Cajun Cowboy is a great place.   Been there a time or two when I used to work in that part of the country.  Good call, Snake!   O0
