Does anyone know if the Wm D. Fitch Parkway is open? I think it is under construction. Runs southwest off of Hwy 30 coming west from Carlos. I have a very good route I love to ride from home to Carlos. (Yankee's Tavern for those that have been there) The Parkway would make a good transition from Carlos to Wellborn.
Thanks!!
-
Will plan to be there....

Anybody riding through Denton or Lewisville enroute to this? I want to meet up and ride down there.
-Robert
Robert-
I'm going to plan to attend, and I'm in Grapevine. I think you might be the Xer I went from Strokers to Babe's Fried Chicken with a few months back... in any case, here's the route I'm considering: http://tinyurl.com/me85qu just over 225 miles, all back FM/RR highways and the like (at least for the route down there, if we're leaving at 3pm to head back I doubt we'll want to do it slowly) which I thought sounded fun. I'll probably be KSU at Willhoite's in Grapevine at 7:30am because I'm always early ;)
Let me know! -cheez
-
Cheez,
That will work for me, I can be at Whilhoit's by 7:30am and we can both head down to College Station.
-Robert
-
This looks like it will be a fun ride.
I am counting myself in for this one.
Connie, I need to get together with you so I can figure out
what time you'll be passing 529.
-
DFW Folks-
KSU at Willhoite's in Grapevine at 7:30. I've revised the route to cut out a bunch of dead mileage and have it down to 210 miles one way. Mostly FM 6 into Bryan/CS from Waco. 360 south, 287 east, 77 south from Waxahachie, cut behind West on Heritage Pkwy to TX-31, Waco loop down to FM 6.
http://tinyurl.com/lvfy5x and make comments- let's see if we can get a route everyone is hip to. O0

Some of us on the northside are meeting at FM 2920 and Rhodes Road at 9 AM, KSU at 9:15, then headed to meet up with Lucky's group in Waller...290 and FM 362, ride to Welborn from there via a back road route! :bikerider:
-
HEY cHEEZ AND ROBERT, I will meet y'all at 360, where it dead ends into 287, just south of Mansfield at betweet 8am and 8:15 am Sat Morning unless something changes. Looke forewqrd to riding again. Cheeze what is the drive time approx.
Earl
-
38 peeps polled in, so......give or take a few two up riders, i would say about 45 peeps so far?..........Weather looks likes its going to be good.
-
I will have a couple of non X'rs riding with me.
-
Earl-
I'm unsure as to what the real riding time of the route is- I'm going to estimate 4.5 hours. 4 hours for you picking up with us in Mansfield, to put us there at noon or so. Maybe earlier if we make good time- unless we have a lot of fuel/comfort stops it shouldn't be more than a one stop trip. It's really up to you guys though, so let me know what you'd like to do and we can plan it. I don't plan on riding too fast and FM 6 will be slower than the freeways.
See you Saturday morning!
-cheez
-
Hey Cheez, I have beenon hwy 6 alot. We can run 70 to 75 without any trouble. Alot of the time the posted speed is 70 and some is 65. I atdhink we can do better tahn 4 hrs. Let me know what you think about 70 to 75.

A nearly perfect day of riding and eating and meeting people. We evidently just missed the RAIN at our house this afternoon. Anyway, I've posted the pictures I took (after THE EDITOR approved them) in my gallery under some original name like I don't know umm Quad City Meet and Greet or something like that.
-
it was great seeing everyone!
I guess i missed the KSU for the Houston bound group. I stepped into the bathroom, and in the middle of taking care of business, I heard everyone take off! :stickpoke: I did see DavidJ when he turned onto hwy 6.
-
Sorry 'bout that Isorg. I do not how we could have missed you!
That was a great day and a great ride. We really enjoyed meeting everyone.
However, The better-half and I had our best meal of the day first thing this morning. Many thanks to Lucky and her lover for making us welcome in their home to start the day. Great food cooked by great people! Having your trained hummingbird show up on on cue during breakfast was a very nice touch.
Only one bad thing happened ALL day. Wayne showed my wife that a man can wash dishes :ohwow:. I've had a good thing going for 35 years and you messed it up in five minutes.
-
Great to meet everyone out there! Total Trip A for the day wound up at 445, guess we had a couple of extra miles on our 210mi route ;)
Here's the actual route we (I) rode: http://tinyurl.com/mvu6dv
peace!
-
Just got home around 9:46 p.m.. Stopped in Brenham for the Hot nights Cool tunes fest going on right now. All in all, it was a great day and was glad that that many folks showed up. A real big thanks to all those who rode 300 plus miles to get there. Food was good, ride was good, company was better. We'll see you soon.

We were all standing around talking outside when you saw you drive by. Almost all of the Houston group was parked on the south side of the place. I had to get home by 3:00 so I left just after you drove by. Sorry I/we missed you.

-
Although I didn't know I was gonna make this until Saturday morning, I'm glad I did. Neat place! I got there early and left early for my final destination and I'm glad I did. Jill and I miscomunicated and I spent an eternity on Forrest Lawn and then Preston in Dallas from I-35 to Celina. HOT HOT HOT !!!!! :reaction:
Apparently, Jill does not know that 45 turns into 75 and this was my first trip to my Son's new home. She just sort of left me hanging. :banghead: Did I mention it was HOT!!!!! :thatwasclose:
Had a nice ride home yesterday though. It was nice and cool almost all the way home. Parked the bike just in time to hear the rain start hitting the roof.
Thanks for putting it all together Matap!

it was great seeing everyone!
I guess i missed the KSU for the Houston bound group. I stepped into the bathroom, and in the middle of taking care of business, I heard everyone take off! :stickpoke: I did see DavidJ when he turned onto hwy 6.
You know Bryce it was so strange meeting you there instead of riding there with you. It would have been nice to ride part of the way back home together...and btw Brock, where were you?? ?? ?? ?? ??

The "Plan" was to go to Somerville and drag a good friend of mine to lunch with us. But i didn't find out he was working that day until i was near Chapel Hill about 9:30. With the GPS telling me i had a ETA of 10:30 for lunch, I spent 2 hours cruising one back road after another until the gps said my ETA would be 11:30 if i would just follow the damn path it was telling me to do!
I was planning on riding back with the group, but like i said... i thought i was left behind, and didn't know everyone was hiding on the back side of the building :D

For my first M&G, it was great. Finnally, match up names and faces together. It was a great ride going down to Welborn, can't say much on the ride home. Way to HOT, made 3 stops when it should of been one. :cuss: Thanks Chad for the ride. :c Can't wait for the next ride, hope it's a lot cooler. :cool2:

This message is for the Ft. Worth and area riders that went down to Welborn to the NY diner. It was a nice ride in the morning but got alittle hot going home. I want to say what a pleasure it is to ride with rider that know How to Keep UP. It sure makes a difference. I logged 437 miles for the Roman sandwich I had. Next time we need to eat more or ride less. Hope everyone got home safe. Seeya next time.
