been thinking about doing this. I got the vacation time.... and after my last trip, i am wanting to go on another! 8)
I'm on the fence. I think I have only missed one of these since it started. Last year was great, except for all the rain - right Mike?? It is a blast. Riding with you guys last year made the whole trip worthwhile. You redheaded wuss ;D ;D you don't want to miss me throughing the wing DOWN!!! We (some) are going north after the party.. I think they are changeing La Quinta locations to north west Denver area.. It won"t be the same without you to lead us on that H/D.... O0 :-* There is plenty of time to think about it... I want to go back to Glacier (going to the sun road) for pics... Get a CB radio!!! Will I see you at BBT and Turkey Roost??? O0 O0 O0 8) ::) :P :-\
That said, I am a bit burned out on that section of Colorado. Especially around the 4th. I may pass this year in favor of an off holiday trip to Cody, WY and/or Mt. Rushmore areas possibly to include a run up/down east Utah, west CO. Probably less on the miles side and more on the stop and look side.
Anyway - too early for me to call it. Heck - the way the economy is, I just hope to have a job and the money to feed the need! Keep posting and get me fired up! I can knock over a C-store!
See some day soon - I hope!
Yeah Bobby - a 2009 Road King has been calling me a lot lately. Then I looked at a Gold Wing. Isn't orange but it is my favorite color - RED. That RK is really tough to ignore. 6 speed, 6 gallon tank, 54 MPG, electronic cruise, electronic throttle plus way cheaper than the Wing. I just gotta stop this!! Wife still very POed at the very thought of a new bike. She is contributing to global warming!! :'(
Riding with you gents was the best part of last year. The roads were very crowded compared to other years. Down right scary on the Mt. Evans run. Glad we have time before locking in.
Kenny - I will be at BBT and Sprang Thang fur shur barring something unforeseen!! Wouldn't miss Sprang Thang and Billville. O0 O0
Cool dudes!! O0 8)
:)Dennis and Rosemary from Leander will be there. Leaving here June 29 for a two week ride to where ever. Got to be back to work July 13. O0
Talking with my bro-in-law from Minnesota the other day, told him I'm not flying up to ride a Victory around the upper Midwest again; want to ride the Feejer somewhere. Colorado is a possibility, especially if I could get up there in the near record time Kenny "The SPOT" VtreX got up there last year...Jeff there are some realy good rides... there will be quite a few from Texas (you might not want to hang with ) but they will be there.. We can even go to the races one night this year... O0 O0 O0  :bikerider: :bikerider: join the Texas "X" Riders on an out of state ride... :stickpoke: :stickpoke: :pot: :pot: :flag:I dont ride that fast.... >:D >:D
:ohwow:
I'll keep an eye on this thread... did you guys head there in one day, or two?
Much of the usual route is boring as a 35 year old marriage. Still some fun spots but they are far apart.

I take it your wife doesn't subscribe to this forum?
:ohwow:
Pete, as always you are welcome at my home!! :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :bikerider: :bikerider:I'll keep an eye on this thread... did you guys head there in one day, or two?
It can be ridden in one day from Houston, but it will require a day to recover. So - no matter what, it is a two day trek. Usually there is a stop in Amarillo, but if you push, you can make Raton and have a short 2nd day.
From Houston to Amarillo, 586 miles. Amarillo to Denver 420.

Kenny is a good man, (most of the time) .... ;)JEFF JEFF SOMEONE TOOK YOUR PUTER!!!! >:D >:D >:D ::) ??? :o :o :bikerider: :bikerider: :c :c
:c :bikerider: :c :bikerider: :c :bikerider:Just slip to the back of the pack with the tailgunner, Bill. Also, as you know, they have all the rides printed out (heck, I think I even have them all via pdf if you'd like them?) so you can do the same rides with one or two others.
I'm leaning in the direction of Co. I went in 04...it was cool but I wasn't big on group rides then, and I'm still not. Six bikes in a group is enough, imho. I made one ride and the rest of the time I road alone. I'm sure I missed a lot, but I missed it in my time frame and didn't have to watch a bunch of other riders. Just the hundreds of other people and bicycles in the curves ::)
I'm going to sit down with my boss and see if I can get 2 weeks back to back so I can go visit some of the other Sates like Utah, Wyoming and Montanna.
:bikerider:
Hey Pogogolf, can you send me those routes. I would like to look at them. Were still debating on going to The Dragons Tail or Coloradical....Leaning more towards Colorado though. Thanks, Big Oz.10/4, I'll find them in my documents and send them your way...I found them, PM me your e-mail address. OK, now nevermind, I also found your e-mail addy and I sent you the ones I could locate (probably 8-10 of them). Enjoy.
Right now there are 7 more of us heading in from Houston and East of Austin. :thumbup:Unfortunately, I am and will continue to be in the throws of negotiations, so Becky & I will not be going up this year. :'( However, since I have a son (A.F. Captain stationed at Shriver AF Base - Space & Missle Command - in CO Springs), we'll be traveling up there a tad later in the summer. :bikerider:
We'll miss ya Jeff. I always enjoy your company. :thumbup:Back attcha....I'm blushing. :-* :c
what day are ya'll going?
I was going up to Kansas so Tammy could color in 2 more states on her us patch. Were going to come back through Alburquerque and visit some Family after the coloradical is over. I guess we will see you up there then. Jim, you and Janatha are leaving before the 1st correct?Thats a state hard paid for when you get it filled in Oz, you even get to welcome bugs flying towards your shield just to break the monotony, lol. I was happy to see a fire (small) once, 'cause the smoke rose way up and turned into a real cloud up there. That was the most happening on the way through Kansas in July heading to Colo. Couldn't live tere, I don't believe.
Jim-Jeff has more excueses than I can misspell!!!! RIDE SAFE RIDE LONG
I have a note from the Doc. My back is not ready for a 120 mile ride yet.

That was my point with the X and not the wing. Was fuel every 100 miles. It was suggested beaux that I would ride the Wing.
