Proton intake

Hello, has anybody put a Proton intake onto their 1300? These were made for the 1800 and fuel injection so there is a lot of air and at differing volumes going into the carb on the 1300. May not work but looking for tuning advice. Thanks!

The Proton really doesn't add much of any hp to the 1800. Finding one for sale will be a needle in a haystack. The Proton does let more air into the intake so let's the engine breathe more. There are other intakes that will let more in like the Barons brand. If you do change the intake you will have to change the needle in the carb. Mr VTX : Jason Bloodworth is the guy to that knows all about tuning the 1300!! Get on the FB TexasXriders page and will get a faster response on info.
