I hope all are doing well...but a question.
« on: August 30, 2022, 10:20:44 AM »

If you see this...then I know you are still viewing the website.
My question is...Should we continue with this site or move on to other forms of Social Media?

I know this site triggers many fond memories of rides, fellow riders and experiences.

Let me know your thoughts.

The decline of motorcycle websites are not unique to this site. I referenced an article a while back about the death of motorcycle websites as groups have moved on to other sources of media. I have mixed feelings as I found this group due to this forum but it isn't attracting much attention these days .   https://www.revzilla.com/common-tread/why-are-online-motorcycle-forums-drying-up-and-dying

It seems that everyone is doing FB/meta and I personally have no desire to get on FB. But I'm a paranoid luddite when it comes to FB. I've seen Lucky get adds on FB for things I've searched on my own computer.

I'm the minority on this, I'm sure.

Of Course it's dirty. It's hard to clean when the tires keep moving.

I would rather go with FB.  Even tho I am not on there a lot, I am not there more than here.

I don't have a preference either way, just wanting to gauge everyone's thoughts.
Gumbo...I don't necessarily disagree with how FB works.  I know how to get hold of you.

I rarely come here and not for lack of wanting to but I've been very busy lately and visiting website forums has gone to the wayside for me.  I don't visit any forums anymore unless I'm specifically looking for tech info.

I'd say let it go, save the money and plan for a hell of a hoorah!!

The choice of having a website that you can control or a site that draws more people to.
I have been here a long time, since 2005 and seen alot happen good and bad with the website. Only thing that stays the same is change. That is the biggest thing that everyone would have to get adjusted to not having a place that is just for us.
If the site is ended that would save money for which the Texasxriders  bank is probably getting low since we haven't had a BBT in two years to help the fund.
I visit here and FB. FB more because of all the other things.
Just have waver the Pros and Cons.

Chad I rode with you to my first BBT way back then and was a rider down next year with DFW and received rider down fund from everyone and at time it kept me afloat . Slid on cold pavement loose gravel on a curve hit guard rail broke both legs was careflighted and riders met me at hospital . Had a stroke afterwards ended my riding days . Was around to help with bylaws for the club were established . So my opinion dont really matter only want the best needed  :bikerider:. I just look in every once in awhile to bring back great memories . So I will  be watching and hope if change is needed it all goes well .  :bikerider:

I remember the name Gator from long time ago with Tapper, BigPro, Hangman, Weedeater, Paperpeddler and the list can go on and on. Haven't heard from alot of the original group in long time. Some I have kept in contact with but most have faded away. I myself will be riding till I can't anymore. Haven't ridden my Wing in over 1.5 years because of Colon Rectal Cancer but I beat it and on the mend. One day at a time!!  :bikerider:

Like I said, mixed feelings but it just isn't getting used. I found out about the group in thru this site' in , I believe 07 but haven't seen it attract any new riders in a long time.
