For those new members on the board or new riders, BBT (Bluebonnet Thunder Rally) has been our annual Texas X Riders Rally. Typically located in the Texas Hill Country during wild flower season, mainly the bluebonnet
Never been to the area and aren't quite convinced on attending here's a little tidbit on what to expect.
RR 335, 336, & 337 - The three twisted sisters. One of the most if not the most popular roads for a motorcyclist.
The route consist of about 131 miles starting from Medina, TX with some fantastic views, pretty hilly.
For the novice rider, these roads are traveled lightly but be careful as it does have some sharp curves and hairpins thrown in there.
In our group of riders we have fast riders and slow riders. Feel free to ask and don't be shy about it. I'm one of those sLOW riders O0

I like looking at the scenery, not the blur of the white lines.

:good: I'm the same way. I don't see the point to go all the way out there and not see the scenery.

clear running rivers and Bandera has some great honky tonks with great live MUSIC?
-
We also have some MC games planned...fun and challenging...take your pick.
This is the type of event where you can come and socialize, eat, ride, relax, sightsee, shop...some of it or all of it...whatever you want.
-
I can only say this rally will be al hoot, be there or be square!

How about a beer with Hondo Crouch?!

Maybe you don't want to take on a long ride but would rather bask in the sun or rain enjoying a cold beer with a couple hundred other bikers listening to some tunes.

Luckenbach is only a short 50-70 miles depending on the route you take on what will be some great roads.
Hwy 16 north from bandera is definitely a pleasure to ride with some moderate skill needed on a small portion of the road.

Hell.....if you're gonna be riding to Luckenbach you might as well ride on over to Willow city loop.

It's a 20 mile loop that you'll wish was triple that distance. Some of best scenery is found here but You'll only know if go!

:agree: :agree: :agree: :c

Double Ditto Matap's suggestion of the Willow City Loop. It is a gorgeous and gentle ride.
-

This place is so close you can beer a drink and walk there....errrr :c It's two minutes to get there for most

Yes, those is some brassieres or more commonly know to you bikers as: Over the Shoulder boulder holder, Chest Basket, Hooter Holder (no not the Hooter we know :ohwow:), Titty Cage, Upper Decker Flopper Stopper, Boobie Basket, and for you of the German descent....a Stoppemfloppin....ah you get the idea.

Be there!
-
My dad used to call them "Double Barrel Slingshots" when my brother and I were a lot younger.
-
Also in walking distance of the campground is Arkey Blue's Silver Dollar Saloon. Arkey Blue is a Texas tradition singing songs he's written over many years. You can see him perform live on most Saturday nights or listen to his songs on the jukebox.
A few local songwriters and performers gather to sing and play on Saturday afternoons. Note: Don't put your fingers too deep in the tip jar. They keep a live scorpion in there :ohwow:
On the mantle of the fireplace there are several small plaques engraved with the names of couples that have been married there, (yes, even mine). Just find the General Store across from the OST Restaurant and go through the red door and down the stairs.
-
Don't forget the Chickin" Coop! One of my favorite to just grab a cold one. Hang out. Almost bought the place a few years ago. All of this within walking distance of the campground!

Carefull w the deer and turkey's on willow road, night rides are not my favorite on the area either. If I switch bikes I may show up, right now the back breaker is not a 4 day hard riding bike :(
-
Well, not to worry here's a spot that makes your Goldwing :stickpoke: look like it came out of a George Lucas film. Don't bother looking for the keyless start button......you're gonna have to blow out a kneecap to get these on :bikerider:
No Blinker Fluid needed here!!!

This little gem is a short jaunt (only 38 miles) from Bandera and easily accesible from RR 337 on RR 187.
Interested in going?.......click on the rolling banner in my signature for more info.

There's plenty there that I would trade the wing for. The Vincents , the Ariel square 4 maybe the inline 4 cylinder Indian, on yeah. They even have my old Harley duo Glide , wouldn't trade for it tho
-
Since Bandera is the Cowboy Capital of the world it would only seem right that they have horses for horseback riding. Watch out for the donkeys.........Gumbo!!
Check out one of the many ranches nearby that offer horseback rides.

another short ride from Bandera to Ingram, TX is Stonehenge II and some really huge heads (get your minds outta the gutter)
about 37 miles the fast way via 173 or 44 miles via hwy 16.

Willow City Loop is great...Libby and I rode it twice...different times of the day...different direction. I would highly recommend. Don't get in a stare down with a bull. and if you do..be quick with the clutch and throttle.

Willow City Loop Standoff!

I am planning a ride on Friday to Rock Springs to visit the Devil's Sinkhole. They give tours but I need to make a reservation. This ride will take in 337 . I am looking at two different routes. A long route that will take us to Camp Wood and by Bracketville and Alamo village where they filmed the movie The Alamo with John Wayne. This is a good ride for you that have ridden the Twisted Sisters before and want something different. The other route is a lot shorter takes us from Camp Wood to Rock Springs It's also a scenic ride with a wide road with sweeping curves. Let me know if you want to go. The last tour is at 1pm so have to take that into account.
let me know which RT you would prefer.
-
First time to Bandera...so you tell me. We can leave whenever on Friday...as long as we are back for meet and greet.
-
