Hi... My name is Toni
I have been active on the VTXOA site in the Chicago area for many years. I recently moved
here in July. Im looking for fellow riders in the area. Ive been on Biker or not with no luck.
I have noticed very few women riders here where as in Chicago we are everywhere and more common.
I have a 05 1300 Retro , Ive put almost 35,000 miles on her. I have done 3 MSF classes , I ride with
several clubs , groups , & singles up north.. Yet, It seems like the guys down here are not to keen
to ride with a women... I don't get it ?? Anyway, Im here now, I will ride when I can , I love to read
thru the forums for tips , advice , maintence issues & things for sale...

We live up the road from you in Justin. My wife rides an 03 1800 C, and I have a couple of 1800's also. We work way too much during the week, but we try to get out on the weekends or for dinner occasionally. My wife and I will ride with you anytime.

Oh, I went last weekend on a ride with two of the ladies in our area, both were very skilled and the gals knew some really good roads. :thumbup:

Hey Toni...I agree that there does not seem to be hardly any women riders in the Dallas/Ft Worth area...at least not on this forum. There are alot of us in the Houston area tho, and in this area the guys are great about riding with anyone who wants to. There are several of us girls that have arranged rides and had great participation. Be a trend setter and get those guys in your area out and riding. Look forward to meeting up with you on the road some time.

MRVTX is right. We can ride pretty much year round here.
I don't know of a any female VTX riders here in Huntsville, but if you ever make it down this way, give me a shout. I'll ride with you.

I would like to have a meet & greet maybe even a short ride from a local biker-friendly establishment.
Like a 2-Wheel Tuesday....For instance somewhere in the general area.
Once I get my feet wet and learn the roads , routes , & towns I will venture out further & further...
I also will ride with anyone as long as they ride safe...
Im looking forward to meeting all of you evenually for some great times & new memories !

Hope all is falling into place for you. I ended up riding up the Talimena parkway yesterday, and NOW is the time! The leaves have changed and it won't be long before they fall!

Bronson Rock is a good, biker friendly spot in Keller...not too far from you.

Thanks for the Bronson Rock idea... Thou, I don't go into bars alone especially If I don't know anyone there. If Im with a group that is different. I can ride after 3:30 everyday & all day on Thurs & Fridays for the next month until my schedule changes.

I am working a double shift today 6am - 11pm so my sunday social life Is dead for the day. One of these days we can meet up.
I live just west of Saginaw and met a few women riders in our area whom you may know or might be talking about.

:hurl:That would be great. I ride with anyone who knows how to ride safe. I know men & women ride different and I adapt to either. My ideal ride is all day on the back roads not riding bar to bar...
Work near Euless so I am a little familiar with the area.
Mark--Im going on vacation also. I will be back on July4th so that will be great.
I'm always up for a evening ride any day of the week...I wont lead unless you all want me to take you to Chicago..

Are you back to work the next day or able to do a day ride as your working the following weekend (July 6/7)? I'm up for another ride up to Muenster (daughter or wife will be riding as passenger since they are back tomorrow morning :thumbup:).
I now have another way home (thanks guys). Going to White Settlement (Lake Texoma area)coming down 377. BTW what was with all those dead trees sticking up out of the lakes we passed?
Nope no crazy riding here, those days are LONG past this old guy :agree: as to the bars, can't see drinking and watching out for :crazy: while I'm on a :goldwing: and much prefer to :bikerider: Thank goodness none of the other riders this past weekend could hear me singing while were out on the road, they might have :redcard: I have my speed gauge set to IF I can't hear my music to sing to we're going to fast.
I'm posting a ride (no clue where yet) the weekend before or after as you've read.

I can't agree more. I came back and even after SPF 50 in the morning my face and arms were toasted. Not as happy with resteraunt this time either. The ride is good for sure....

Heck I don't usually wear underware but when I ride I do :ohwow: I have to say after that 706 mile adventure my too-nanny was a bit sore too.

I'll be back from Mexico July4th as it looks right now. ( I work for the airlines so, we can come & go as we want)
I go back to work on the 5th. If I work a few extra hours and there is a not-to be missed ALL-DAY ride i can take the day off. I need to get out ! I need to start learning the roads, towns & finding the little hidden gem burger joints.
I give you credit for trying...its just hard to ride when working weekends is involved.
Anyone up for a sunset ice cream ride or just a short 2 hour ride any night this week ?

I'm also a huge fan of lil tasty brger joints! You should check out Twisted Root, Fred's and Navajo Burger just to name a few.

Yeah I agree, I seemed to have gotten whacked on the bridge of my nose by one of those little flockers. I should have been bobbin n weavin :bikerider:

Headwear to prevent sunburns...don't they call that a helmet? :)

Welcome to Texas Toni. I joined this group not long ago myself. I'm down here in Central Texas but I do make it to the DFW area at times. This seems to be a good group of people thatlove to ride. As far as BON is concerned? If you like drama there is plenty to spare on that site, at least in the DFW area, I don't know how they do it in Chicago.
