Found this biker stop this weekend
« on: October 17, 2010, 03:26:21 PM »

I heard about this place Saturday, so I took a ride down and checked it out;

The Biker's General Store 5955 Hwy 66 in Maypearl.  972-435-2605.

They had a good sized store with a good selection of leather and all the usual biker stuff.  Not too bad on the prices.  I bought a nice luggage rack cooler for $49.95.  There is a grill and plenty of covered seating, but the grill is only open on weekends.  They don't have a beer license, so the beer if "free", but donations are encouraged and they only offer Bud or Budlight.   Or byob.

Since the grill is not open on weekedays, I guess you have to byob. Water and soft drinks are available in the store.  Overall, nice place to stop during or after the ride and the lady running the shop was real nice.

Been there several times. They stand by their merchandise. Good quality stuff too. Last time I was there was about 3 months ago and they were open 7 days a week! Couldn't believe it. :good:

They said that they would stock Amsoil if you ask 'em too.

I've been going there for a couple of years now and they are good people, the lady out front is great to deal with, and yes they do stand behind what they sell there. She has offered to buy jackets in my size if I wanted her to. I wear a tall size jacket and they are not always in stock at most places.  :thumbup:

I saw the post about Amsoil, is it worth the cost. I just did an oil change last night and used the Honda GN4. I have used that for 10 years now.

I used Amsoil for a short time but didn't really see the need for the higher cost.  I have used Shell Rotella in my bikes for years and have been very happy with it.

Went by that same shop today to get another pair of deer skin fingerless gloves. They are thin, tough, and have never stained my hands. I love 'em.

Found another leather shop in downtown Maypearl that has some very good merchandise also. They are originally from South Dakota and there winter gear looks WARM.  :thumbup:

They had Amsoil for $10.99 a quart, but I get it cheaper. Been using it since 2004 in my VTX. It's a personal choice thing I guess.

Anyone want to ride out there next week I am off next week.
Only day I am off is Sunday this weekend unless they are open that day and I think they are calling for rain.   :(
