The original thread on the VTX board was originally arguing that it wasn't possible to hit 130 indicated...

My 1300 R wouldn't.  Got it to a bit above 115 on a good day one time.  May have done  a bit more but ran out of road.  Probably the windshield and all that extra weight from a plastic comb I had in my LardAss jeans held the speed down considerably. ;) :D

Yeah, so this topic won't go anywhere till we get 3-4 bikes and radar them.  Until then here's a picture of Jennifer Connelly.

I have a 1300 and the most I have seen in the speedometer is about 125 mph with someone riding next to me in another bike and they were doing about 115 mph, one bike was a 1800C the other was a Busa... they both said that we were doing about 115 mph on their bikes, I know my R1's speedometer is also off.  I don't think the 1300 will do more than 115-120 mph, it does not make enough horse power to go any faster...

Beccas 1800 will not indicate anyting more than 135 mph but I have been next to her on my R1 and my sppedometer will indicate about 145 mph when I passed her  :D, either way I'm glad the 1300 does only 100+ miles per hour and that it sounds as good as it does...  yes the 1800's are faster but when you have to stop every 110 miles + or - for gas...  that takes away some of the fun

Whenever I've been out to the 1/4-mile track, every time I go through the trap, my speedo says around 105...but the time slip says 95.

I've had it pegged out when I was CATCHING UP TO Becca!!  ;)

This is the best post that I've ever seen on this forum.  As far as top speed on a 1300.  Drop it out of an airplane. You're guaranteed terminal velocity which I think is about 120mph.   ;D  If you wanna go faster than that, tow it behind a Goldwing  ;D ;D ;D

Jap bikes speedos typically indicate 10-13% higher than actual.

I believe my best run ever was 13.69, and no other 1300 has beaten that time that I've run against.  There's one crazy Costa Rican on this board that beat me down the track a couple of times, but I whooped his shiney hiney down there once...and his times were still slower.  ;)

The 1800s that have run out there are getting around the 12.6 range, so we 1300 riders are only slower by about a second...at least I AM!!

There's an 1/8-mile track that I'd love to get on & race an 1800...the time difference would not be as big as on the 1/4-mile times.  Shoot, if I caught 'em sleeping at the light, I might actually take 'em.  O0

Oh Becca...where are you? 8)

If you drop it out of an airplane, I believe that the fall rate accellerates at 32 per second per second. I think that you can beat 13.69...of course...it is measured vertically....and requires access to an airplane  (is that 13.69 minutes?)

And if you shave all the hair off your legs, you can probably shave a couple of hundredths also. :o

12.49 is my best time as of the last time we ran.  Jeremy ran a 12.2something.  I think 12.25.  It's somewhere on this board.  He doesn't weigh much so he gets full potential out of the bike.   :P

Mine just has pipes, no power commander.  Jeremy has a huge intake and pipes, but no power commander that I know of.

Those were both 1800's though.
