BBT V riders from DFW area
« on: January 31, 2008, 08:23:52 PM »

May 23 - 25th is the BBT and everybody from this area that's planning to ride (or truck) need to start planning when their pulling out and see if we can group people together. I'm planning on Friday morning but could be persuaded to leave Thursday afternoon if need be. Just one of those things we need to know in case you need to make motel reserverations somewhere. Need to start making plans NOW because it will be here way too soon.
I think it worked out real well last year for a lot of us so this year again:

If leaving Friday morning - the East Texas guys and locals can meet me in Hillsboro (Loves truck stop Hiway 22 at I-35) say no later than 10:00am so we can meet up with other riders in Hamilton at noon. I know there is more riders planning to make the trip this year than last from this area and planning now will help things go smoother later.

I know the Dallas and Ft. Worth riders will probably meet in Cleburne or Alvarado again and then on to Hamilton, so the new or first time riders from that area keep in touch with what's going on. Anyone from that area that wants to meet us in Hillsboro, thats fine and your more than welcome, just don't say "I'll meet you there" and then at the last minute decide to ride with the other group and not tell anybody.

Post up if your thinking about making the trip and let's get an idea of about how many are going and want to meet up again in Hillsboro.

Chad, I've been thinking of going down early to set up a tent close to the RV area to kind of "stake the claim"....thinking that others might 'STAY AWAY FROM A "BIKER" and unofficially keep that area open for our riders to congregate. I had been thinking of going down Wednesday or so...if you could go then let me know. Otherwise, I might wait and ride down Thursday with ya'.

Oh yeah... Just a heads up to all new BBT attendees, usually over 50 to 70 of us are there thursday, and we all go to eat together thursday night, so plan on coming early on thursday if you can. HHHmmm, might need to throw this in the General for everyone.

OK, let's put it this way. I will stay around here to meet and guide some, (not wanting to say newbie's because some local long time members have never made the trip either), down that way, and if the response is good then we can get some more riders to enjoy the fun, then I'll lay back and wait. Talked to Hobo a few minuets ago and he wants to run Thursday if he can get the time and it works out. If not then he's shooting for Friday at best.
I'm going to wait and see what happens for awhile but if I get basically no response so to say then Thursday with yawl is in for the trip.
I'm really hoping for some replys because the one's that haven't been don't know what their missing with all the great riding and things going on down there.

Snake- You might mention if you post it to the General board where I'll be and I'll maybe catch some responses from that.

The attached link will hopefully explain. You need to try to attend. Lots of good people and fun rides to boot.
