A friend of mine, Jeremy Chavez, who guides in Texas and Louisiana, just put this short video together. He shot it all this past fall on the upper Texas coast. Enjoy:

I grew up in S. Texas on Matagorda Bay....grew up doing this....miss doing this.

Wayne, you guys should join us for the Matagorda trip in October. The fishing will be as good as it gets -- which is pretty danged good -- then. Nine nights of spiced rum and ten days of reds on the fly.............. :t :c
Probably a hour and a half -- if that -- for y'all, towing.

What Matagorda Trip? Where do you stay? Spec Trout are good off the jetties in Port O'Connor...Reds near Fulton Beach..

We stay at the Matagorda Bay Nature Park. A group of guys will also be camping down at Three Mile Cut. The marsh around there is a redfish factory.

8.5 miles down beach and cut across to east bay , one of my favorite spots !!!

oh! On the other side of Palacios then....my hometown is Port Lavaca...go down there all the time. I still have ton of family there
