Fender mounted luggage rack
« on: August 31, 2006, 03:20:18 PM »

I'm thinking about removing the passenger seat.  Does anyone know of a luggage rack that will mount directly to the Neo's fender, in place of the pillion?

This is Honda's version. I have a new one in my attic, if someone is interested...

Kidding aside... I bet, with some creativity, it could be modded for use on my bike... dunno.

Another option would be a Mustang Fender Bib.  That's what I used. I carry a T-bag laptop bag that slips over my drivers backrest and it sits on the fender bib. Haven't had any problems at all and I ride 100 miles everyday with it on there.  I can take the bib off and the fender looks like new.

Sounds creative, RobDogg.  I can't quite visualize the "bib", but I decided to sell the backrest I have, remove the Ultimate passenger seat and go "naked".  I'd like some kind of [removable] backrest for those times I'm riding long distance.

The Ultimate can accept a drivers backrest I think (also sold by Ultimate). Mine is a Corbin and the backrest is removable, I just have to take the seat off and remove a 7/16" bolt from the underside and it slides out.  Here's a pic where you can see the bib.  I don't have a pic of any of my T-bags on it though (I have 3 t-bags, one Kury bag, one tank bag, saddlebags (removable)..... I'm kind of a bag junky)

I have a few bags myself... so I kinda think along the same lines.  And a really good use of the drivers backrest with the fender bib thing... kudos.
