Title: just got out of surgery.
Post by: torque on May 16, 2008, 01:03:54 PM
Hello ya'll I just got out of surgery.. since most of ya'll know that I'm complete deaf. I've been waiting for the funds to come up to be able to pay for the cochlear Implant... well it's all done. I'm just bit sore, all chopped up from the meds that I'm taking... ??? so just letting ya'll know that I'm doing well and cannot wait to hear my bike roar for the very first time in my life...  but that'll be 6 weeks before they'll activate the implant.... oh boy... i'm so excited!.... O0

I tried to upload the pics on BBR... but apperantly can't find "upload" part on that site?... maybe I'm all too chopped up???    :-\

Ain't modern technology great?  Can they put in a switch, so if you don't like what you hear you can turn it back off?

Seriously, that's great news torque...  Awesome!

Torque, I don't know you, but I think this is FANTASTIC.  Glad you are doing well.  The pipes on a VTX 1800 sound great except for Stock.

Congrats! I used to work with somone who had a similar operation, he wasn't coompletely deaf though just really close. It took a few weeks before he had the full effect then everyday he would come in and tell you some new thing he heard or learned. Like he had been calling a couple that was his neighbors the wrong names for over a year or just how cool a tv show was now.  I am happy for you.

it'll be long journey for me.. I'll be crawling allover again... it's not like i will reconize the noise as soon as I hear it... this will be the first time I will be able to hear things....

What a wonderful thing to recieve. Congradulations! There are lots of hearing people that never learned to listen. I suggest not turning it on until you have riden to an isolated spot with a stream and lots of nature and no city noise. Enjoy your new world!

Torque, I am God Send as all of Us are there no words to type that would make you feel the way we feel for you, just the thumping of Our Hearts going out for you.  I'll show you the Secret Hand Shake/Hug someday.
Aren't you glad some people took school seriously?

So the moral of this story is words have too many meaning to say what your feeling, but to feel the physical touch from someone that cares makes a body feel they care.  Somebody with the new decoder ring want to decode this for me?   :)

Hoping to see you soon
                                    Swampfox

P.S. when you can plug-in you can check out this link on my profile It's a song I wrote.
