Oasis/ SXSW ride Saturday March 15

I was asked to post the details of this ride on this board, so here they are:

Saturday

8am- arrive Loves' truck stop 290+2920  appx 40 miles from CBD

8:15-8:30 ksu-depart 290 toward Austin appx 120 miles more

Gas up around IH35 and 290  (it's so stressfull to ride with Bikes that don't get 250-300 miles to the tank ;D)

2222 to Lunch at Oasis  appx 25 miles more

Dessert in Marble Falls down 1431 appx 40 miles more


from there you can return home or stay with some of us in Austin Saturday night. Probably gonna stay at La Quinta near IH35 and 290.

Why you guys riding into I35? It's SXSW, and traffic will suck the weenie.... a better alternative is to take the tollway, 130N to 45 West, which drops you right out on 620 heading West, about 6-7 miles from the Oasis.

Hotel rooms are tough in Austin because of SXSW. The Oasis may be quite a wait too. We may wanna stop for a beer and eat in Marble Falls.

I booked a room at La Quinta near 35 and 290. the rate was 121.50 with discount. They only had one left after I booked but the woman said she expected some cancellations and they would know something by in the morning. There are two other La Quintas up 35 to the North.

Go to Google Maps and put in this:

Next time Rex. Gabe and started trying to go once a month to the Oasis and usually don't stay over. We'll see you next month or so. Glad to hear from you... tell Michelle and the kids hello.  :)

I got our room booked at the same LaQuinta.  Gabe had to get his room at the other LaQuinta not too far away!  Looking forward to this weekend.
