Yeah, but I know your bike.  I would have recognized it fast.  I saw a two tone red & black Retro and a silver and blue retro.  They also stayed in the Super 8 where I stayed.

Paul,

I arrived in Tucumcari on the evening of August 10 and left the next day, but I was riding my Goldwing, not my VTX (I sold the VTX this past Spring).  Apparently, we crossed paths.  I wish I would have know you were there.  I found a restaurant that serves some of the best BBQ I've ever had.  The place is on Old Route 66 and is called Rockin' Ys'  Did you get rained on while you were there?  The sky was mostly clear when I arrived, but when I woke up the next morning, it was raining.  As soon as I could pack up and check out of my motel, I headed east on I-40 but didn't get out of the rain until about 20 miles before reaching Amarillo.

PM me with your telephone number when you get home.

Funny you mention the rain.  I set my alarm clock for 4am Sunday morning and the first thing I checked was myradar app and saw the rain coming.  I hurried Ruthy and told her we need to get out of here to miss the rain.  We hit the most miniscule sprinkles right at the state line and was clear alway the down to home up until about 50 miles from the house on Hwy 6 before 290 and we got poured on.  We only put up our cell phones so they wouldn't get wet and purposely didn't put on any rain gear.  We ended this great adventure exactly the way we know how........getting rained on.  Ruthy even says, "It wouldn't be a 'Paul and Ruthy Trip', if we didn't catch some rain this close to home.
